The Gardens

Lawns, pathways and a wild meadow, sweeping down towards the sea at Drains Bay.

Ten acres, exclusively yours

Lawns that sweep down towards the sea

Behind Hillmount House, the rear gardens sweep down towards the sea, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers. Charming pathways and a wild meadow give you a choice of settings for a ceremony, a drinks reception or lawn games.

Mature trees shelter the lawns while the view down to the water stays open, and because we host one wedding a day, every corner of the estate belongs to you and your guests.

Outdoor ceremonies

Say your vows with the sea beyond

Weather permitting, there are two outdoor ceremony settings: the Formal Lawn and the Meadow. We provide the ceremony arch, lanterns and outdoor furniture and seating, so the space is ready when your guests arrive.

If the weather turns, your ceremony moves indoors to the Coach House or The Barn.

  • Formal Lawn or Meadow, weather permitting
  • Ceremony arch, lanterns and outdoor seating included
  • Ceremony charge of £450 for weddings in 2026 to 2028 (£550 in 2029), in addition to venue hire

Photographs

Paths, lawns and coastal light

The grounds and gardens are yours for photographs. Couples often slip away during the drinks reception for portraits along the garden paths and lawns, with views looking down towards the sea and over to Scotland.
